Fresh, vital and important in nurturing writers, and developing new musicals. Great theatre in an intimate setting right in mid-town!
Quality in selection and production.
Enter Laughing is wittily written and flawlessly cast, a delectable old-fashioned funny musical.
The production of “Enter Laughing “ was well done. The script is funny and the whole cast made it look easy as they pulled off this fun musical.
I saw Enter Laughing in preview on May 11. One of the funniest scenes to me was well done by Chris Dwan, and a song sung by Robert Picardo and Ray DeMattis together was a joy. Despite some things still that need to be worked out, I really enjoyed the show. The cast is professional and the theater staff, friendly.
The York helps new musicals get up and running. I should know.
Unbelievably bad, under-rehearsed and lamely produced version of “Lolita,” and an arrogant artistic director who refused our polite request for refund based on our having “seen half the show,” because we were polite enough to wait until intermission before leaving. Shameful.
Small theatre every seat is a good one, creative & talented performers - a terrific time.
commitment to new musicals
