We recently stayed at the Moxy Santa Barbara and can’t recommend it enough. If you are looking for a spot that hits all the marks—superb location, great amenities, and a fantastic atmosphere—this is it. ​The hotel has an incredible vibe; it’s energetic and fun, with plenty of options whether you want to relax or socialize. First thing to note is this is more of a hostel than a hotel. If you just need a spot to lay your head while you explore Downtown Santa Barbara, then this is a good choice. The funk zone, state street, and the warf are all walking distance. There is a communal kitchen to store and prepare your food in lieu of a in-room mini fridge. A lounge space with board games. The room was very tiny to my surprise. There was not enough room to even walk around nor was there a chair to sit on. I did pay for the better option room with the patio, but it was very disappointed in the room itself. The TV was nonfunctional and even though two or three people came and tried to fix it. It did not work. Instead of giving me an option to have a room of similar caliber I was offered Marriott points, which didn’t do anything for me. I honestly wouldn’t come back here.
