First thing to note is this is more of a hostel than a hotel. If you just need a spot to lay your head while you explore Downtown Santa Barbara, then this is a good choice. The funk zone, state street, and the warf are all walking distance. There is a communal kitchen to store and prepare your food in lieu of a in-room mini fridge. A lounge space with board games. The room was very tiny to my surprise. There was not enough room to even walk around nor was there a chair to sit on. I did pay for the better option room with the patio, but it was very disappointed in the room itself. The TV was nonfunctional and even though two or three people came and tried to fix it. It did not work. Instead of giving me an option to have a room of similar caliber I was offered Marriott points, which didn’t do anything for me. I honestly wouldn’t come back here.

The Moxy Hotel was located central to everything. It is close to the Funk Zone, State Street, and other places as well. I liked that it is a pet friendly hotel. It is a small hotel and that makes it very quaint. I enjoyed meeting the people and staff. There is a stove, oven, and refrigerator if you want to make your own dinners, breakfasts, and/or lunches.
