Warning - Don't invest with Vanguard Investments. I started a wire transfer July 1, 2019 to Chas. Schwab, but Vanguard prevented me from getting my cash out of several cash mutual funds. Investors are suppose to be shareholders. But ever since the founder died in Nov 2018, the new President has changed a lot. So after 10 years, I decided to move my investments to Chas Schwab on July 1, 2019 by electronic transfer. Unfortunately, negative stars aren’t an option. I closed my retirement account with them last month and the check hasn’t come. After several calls, I was told the only thing they could do was reissue a check or have me pay to overnight it. Fine, I need the cash, let’s overnight it - but I have to make a fedex account and they will charge me. They assured me over and over again I could make the elections on how it’s shipped so I am not charged hundreds for it. So within an hour I call back and get someone else new. Vanguard has no escalation point if you have an issue. A simple Roth excess contributions removal took 5 calls 6 emails and me following up to ensure it got done. First, they directed me to an online form for the request. A week later I received an emailasking for more information. After that call nothing happened. I called 4 days later and was told there was one more piece of information missing which I provided. 3 days later I received an email that there was missing information. I wouldn't use this company. They're incapable of making decisions that involve taking care of their customers in unique situations, or going above and beyond for the business. My new employer uses them for 401k and they refuse to work with me when they thought I elected 100% of my paycheck to be deferred to 401K. In my memory, i elected 3%. It's not that I thought I elected 3 and fat fingered 30, they took 100%. Since I didn't keep screenshots of my signup session, I can't refute this. Awful. Made a simple request to withdrawal myfundsfollowwing me relocating and ending employment on my own accord. It's been over 20 days to receive a small check. When asked, they cannotdirect deposit money as a check had already been issued. Phone answered by overworked call center with no options to help you besides their basic script. Never again.

Vanguard claims that their low cost model in fees makes them unable to offer normal things like, say sending a check via Fedex or UPS when funds arent received or they have made an error. So I have been now waiting 30 days for a funds disbursement, and had I not called AGAIN today to find out the status of the check they would still be sitting on their hands putting it through "processing" where "no human hands touch the check" so they cant help you get your funds faster. OBNOXIOUS *O*B*N*O*X*I*O*U*S* customer service ... they drag their feet like they are paid by the minute on the phone. The password ( that i write down) is not working , and now it asks me the first and last name of the LLC and the date of birth. So i cannot reset my password . Then I called 3 different numbers ... everybody gave me the correct "phone number" and i was transferred in total SIX freaking times ... and now i am on hold again. I was attempting to transfer an inheritance from a deceased relative’s Vanguard account into our bank account. Vanguard did the micro transfers to assure the bank contact information I provided was correct...I got notice that the micro transfer process was successful...so I attempted to transfer the funds to our bank...it wouldn’t work! My research on Vanguard reviews is eerily similar to my own experience. In short, Vanguard is holding my money hostage. They apparently have a pattern of behavior designed to alienate customers and avoid responsibility. They have acted in insulting, condescending, utterly unhelpful and abusive manners.
