This beloved cafe is known for their giant burgers. Served with a heaping side of fries, their masterful creations range from the ever-popular Thurmanator, the Macedonian, Jaeger Burger and many more. Mouth watering sides include plenty of fried options like pretzel bites, burrito bites, and pizza rolls. They even go all out on their fries that are served with sauces, toppings and even gravy. And that's just the tip of the iceberg for the menu! For a giant-sized appetite, visit this Columbus favorite.

French fries tasty, hamburger bland – I've lived in Columbus for a year now and am constantly amazed at what the locals consider to be good food. If you've ever cooked a burger on the George Foreman grill, you know what that bland tasteless hung of burger is like when its done. Tasting the burger at Thurman's last night reminded me of that. No flavor at all. Also got an order of onion rings that tasted fishy. Only edible item was the french fries and I have to say, they were great. Otherwise, horrible food and service.
On A Mission: Eat the Biggest Burger In Town – I recently visited Thurman's before a Blue Jacket's home game to try and impress my date with the amount of red meat I could eat, true Columbus style. I gave an honest effort only finishing half of my delicious Blue Cheeseburger. He showed me up and made the whole Thurman Burger disappear, which is quite a feat! Here's a tip, outsmart the waitlist and belly up to the bar- you'll get your beers quicker. No plasmas, but at the bar you are close enough to see the score without it b... read more
Nap time – I have lived in Columbus for 14 years and had my first experience with Thurman's today. What a burger. Fries were good too. It is a small place but we only had to wait about 15 minutes at 12:30 p.m. and the service was average to above. The short wait was certainly worth it once the burger came to the table. An hour and a half later... I need a nap!
User review by brit1 – We would definitely go more often if there wasn't such a wait. Even at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon we were waiting for nearly 40 mins. Parking is also a pain. We have experienced extremely good service and also unbelievably bad. There is one guy in particular who clearly does not give a rat's rear. That said, the burgers are legendary - and rightly so. Enormous, flavorsome, juicy. What more could you want?! Try the deep-fried pickles too!
BIGGEST BURGER I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! – Thurmans is a Great Place to go before a game, after a game, or when there isn't a game. The Burgers are big ( you definately need 2 hands and a very large mouth to eat them) You can dress comfortably and watch a game on TV...and everyone there is Friendly! I suggest you go early if there is a game in town, it does get packed.
Mushroom Burgers are wonderful!!!!! – The place is great! Food is wonderful and well priced! The radio isn't blasting in your ears as you talk and the waitress was wonderful. The mushroom burger was cooked just right. I recommend this place anytime!
User review by steveyao – thurman's is an excellent place to go and possibly home to the biggest burger around. not a dried up burger like other chain restaurants... big and juicy and full of flavor. there is a wait... especially in groups of people.. but once in, the food is excellent. service is real... eat your food... enjoy it.. and feel satisfied! i rave about it to all my friends and people i meet.
Not the fries! – A very good burger. Good onion rings. The potato chips are better than the fries and they come with the burgers!! Small and crowded so plan to wait if you come for lunch, or other peak times !! Parking can be a challange too.
Thurman's Hands Down – Columbus, you should be able to remember the old Wendy's commercial with the old lady saying, "Where's the beef?", well it's not at Wendy's folks, she should have been doing the commercial for Thurman's. If you are looking for the best burger place in the midwest, Thurman's Cafe is your dream come true!!!! I give them a 15 out of 10!!!
