The Theosophic Society is a classical "new age" style cult meant to keep people away from pain. They are very afraid of death and they gather to convince themselves that the life of a human body can extend indefinitely, this is what they call "Long life elixir" or "philospher's stone".
The whole package! Their rich history of perceptive instructors and the depth of 'reality' based knowledge within their doctrines, makes me a fan!!! They aren't they only group with such knowledge, but they have the truth - none-the-less.
