I’d describe this place as “could be great”. Booked through Expedia and paid $280 per night for a Terrace Suite. That’s a little high but we like older hotels and it’s certainly much cheaper than some other historic options like The Como. What wasn’t mentioned is that it included breakfast and a free drink at the bar(when ordering food) for both guests. So that works out at less than $200 per stay which is a bargain. Stay away!!! Location was good. Paid $300 for a ‘suite’ which had one tv that didn’t work and the other tv couldn’t be used as the air con was leaking water from it all night and dripping on power board. Cooling didn’t work AT ALL. Spoke to the owner who was quite happy to take our money but once we paid we got totally ignored and wouldn’t reply to us. Even sent her a video of the dripping water which went all night long so we couldn’t sleep. Pub staff were friendly but please stay away as it was a total rip off.
went on a saturday night, there were two young workers behind the bar, seemed freshly 18. The service was horrible, they seemed extremely undertrained and i didn’t see any supervisor around. Asked for 2 cocktails and it took about 15 minutes, even though there was no other people at the bar. For a saturday night, this service was very slow and disappointing.
The reality did not meet expectations, the pictures online pertaining to the venue and food look great. In reality it’s awful, super run down place, walls peeling, stained and every table is sticky. The steak was literally a bit or rubber, chew chew chew. Food arrived with no cutlery, no condiments either. Only one lady was operation the bar and resturant. Went to toilet and it was too disgusting to use, urine smell overpowering. This place just need completely gutting.
