Tenderloin Room was put together in the 1960s, when flamboyant Chase Hotel owner Harold Koplar fashioned a San Francisco-like haunt between his Chase and Park Plaza hotels. Featuring mahogany woodwork from a demolished mansion across the street, an open grill and nearly gaudy red wallpaper, the Tenderloin Room reigned as one of St. Louis' most fashionable restaurants for years.
