Tenderloin Room was put together in the 1960s, when flamboyant Chase Hotel owner Harold Koplar fashioned a San Francisco-like haunt between his Chase and Park Plaza hotels. Featuring mahogany woodwork from a demolished mansion across the street, an open grill and nearly gaudy red wallpaper, the Tenderloin Room reigned as one of St. Louis' most fashionable restaurants for years. Today, with the hotels revived as apartments, the Tenderloin Room has been restored to near its old prominence. Recommended are the lamb and veal cho... read more

Chase Tenderloin Room delivers for seniors – The Chase Tenderloin Room was were my husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. They delivered. They substituted a non-gas producing veggie and the portions were very manageable. I highly recommend them. The lunchtime menu is superb!! Sincerely, Marjorie Soffer Wood
Turning – very pretentious....very stiff...can't get comfortable. had the strip, tasted like old cow....very stringy and hard to cut through.....attentive service but I still felt like a second-class citizen dressed in one of my better suits. Repetitious service and I have no idea what's with the big bald guy 'greeting' us....very strange firs timpression. Very robotic. Side dishes aren't worth the price and you have no choices.
Wonderful place for a special ocassion! We took my parents here for their 35th wedding anniversary. The steaks were amazing, as was the waitstaff. The cold seafood appetizer was a bit skimpy, but other than that, the meal exceeded expectations!
not like it used to be – We had a dinner here about a year and a half ago. It was terrible. The service was decent enough. The appetizer cart - just okay. The steaks were totally overdone. We were seated on the upper level where I was able to watch the two "chefs" at the grill. The flame was so high - I thought twice about ordering the "tenderloin" - it really didn't appear that they knew what they were doing, and I was right - they didn't. The prices were WAY too high for the meal served. We were so dissappointed in the mea... read more
Elegant Romantic Dining – My wife and I had dinner here on Sunday evening, June 24, 2007 as we were staying at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel, in which the restaurant is located. In short, we just loved it. The lighting is subdued and the restaurant's decor is a combination of traditional (its been there since 1953) and modern, which really works. Our server, Frank, was understated and impeccable. Cocktails are huge and cold and promptly served. Appetizers are brought to the table in a cart from which selections are made. The sh... read more
Best tenderloin sandwich in town. – I took my wife to the Tenderloin Room because we were staying at the Chase Park Plaza and we needed somewhere romantic to eat. It worked out perfectly so we went back. Not only is the food great but they also have amazing concerts from time to time including Erin Bode.
Don't waist your time or money! – We were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate a special anniversary. We made a bad choice by dining at the tenderloin room. The food was mediocre at best, extremely overpriced for the quality. The service was horrible, poor attitude, completely uninterested in providing us with service. For a restaurant at the Chase we expected much, much more. Bottom line don't waist your time or money.
Expensive, but well worth it! – First class operation. Food, service, ambiance...everyhting was first class. Woiuld recommnd highly. Limited menu covered everything without having to make decisions on multiple items.
Elegance, glamour and good steaks. – The Scene The Tenderloin Room is one of the restaurants in the elegant Chase Park Plaza--part grand hotel and part high-rise apartment community. The Chase also has a movie theater, so you can have dinner and see a film without even having to re-park your car. The Tenderloin Room's servers are veterans in the restaurant business, and it shows. They snap to it when you need something, usually even before you ask. They're neatly groomed and look smart in their black trousers and vests, cris... read more
