As a local, I have been checking out all the NEW restaurants in our town, “ over-priced & fancy” as I see it. Of course, let’s hear it for our beautiful waterfall but it was not lit up at night so we could see it sitting out on the veranda. Beautiful place and our waitress was wonderful, so was the manager. But, it could have been a lot better My guest ordered her $25 hamburger medium rare, it came out well done. She did say it was delicious. Should be, it’s a burger. We dined at Blackbarn in Saugerties, NY for the first time this summer. It was delightful. The waterfall views outdoor seating deck was lovely. It was part of a perfect day trip to a town we now will revisit often. The drinks were great. Food was delicious. Octopus with potatoes was our favorite. The bread was very nice also. Delicious food and a beautiful back drop. Every meal I've had here no matter the time of day has been fantastic. Would reccomend this place to anyone for a nice brunch or dinner.
Had a 8:30 reservation, was told as we were seated the kitchen closes at 8:45 , please ordered now. At 8:45 we were told the one drink we got was the last as the bar tender just went home??? While we were eating, we were as asked several time “ can we take your plates away “?? As soon as we were done, we were not asked for desert, coffee , just received the check.. RIDICULOUS!
