Established in 2013. The Swope Mansion was purchased in 2012 by John and Lori Jumba with the idea of turning this elegant 1836 home into a bed and breakfast. The 8700 square foot mansion was completely renovated adding all the common amenities of today. The Swope Manor opened for business in the spring 2013. The B&B is beautiful--the rooms are decorated with great care. Breakfast was terrific. It was a good location right near the square and restaurants to walk to. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
My husband and 14 month old baby stayed here and it was a wonderful experience! The rooms and house are beautiful and so well decorated! Breakfast was delicious and they cut up fresh fruit for my baby both mornings. The manor is within walking distance to the main Square. Everyone on staff was super nice and accommodating! We will definitely be coming back to stay the next time we are in Gettysburg.
Went to Gettysburg for one night and stayed at the Swope Manor. l usually stay at hotels, but decided to try a Bed and Breakfast. Was a great decision. Not hyperbole, it was the perfect place. From the historic setting to the feel of being in a beautiful 1863 manor as soon as you walk in, to the very friendly and attentive service, to the rooms that were immaculate.
