The Straw house in Wichcliff just South of Margaret River is a fantastic house large enough for 12 with plenty of room to spread and out and great verandah for drinks outside. The house is quirky and fun kitchen is great with everything you need on hand. The house is made from mud and straw so the walls are very thick and insulate the house against the heat and cold. Blessed with inherent beauty of the rustic and quirky kinds, mixed with a liberal dose of comfortable, functional areas and a pinch of country living, The Straw House has quickly become a family favourite. The property has something for every family member, or whatever group you take there. All of the characteristics promised in promotional literature were there, thankfully not the possible attention from wildlife of the slithering kind. Wonderful place to stay for leavers. DJ (the host) is lovely and accommodating, answering all emailed questions promptly and is very knowledgeable on the area, and giving wonderful suggestions on nearby activities and places to eat. The house has plenty of space for our large group of 10 friends, with 6 bedrooms and two large living rooms with soft couches and large tables for board games and drinks. A great place to take a large family or group, the location was perfect for a relaxing, quiet time away from the city but still close to the local attractions. We will be looking to book again. Thank you to our Host for making our stay enjoyable.
