Could not have dreamt of a better place to stay for our minimoon. Absolutely stunning property with one of the best breakfasts (included) that we've ever had. The free bikes was a huge perk as we used them to get around town and took them out along the river for a memorable afternoon. The staff made us feel welcome and attended to at every minute. Would love to return one day!
Joan & Jeff Stanford, who founded this oasis 45 years ago seem to have thought of everything to create this gem. The rooms, with wood burning fireplaces, are extraordinary. The walks through the property are relaxing with numerous locations to pause and reflect and the Vegan food at Ravens is consistently delicious. Highly recommended for a multi night stay.
The Stanford Inn is the perfect to unwind. The people and the atmosphere are down to earth, respectful of the environment and a pleasure to talk with. This is the perfect place to relax, explore nature, bike, canoe, swim and practice yoga if you like. They provide an array of spa treatments, cooking, nutrition and creative play art classes. We were in one of the “forest” rooms. It was very dated. The plumbing was old and water spurted out of the shower and sink sporadically. There was a family in the suite next to us with screaming kids and we could hear everything. The food was very subpar at breakfast. For what totaled at $700 a night we were deeply disappointed and will not return.
This has been on my bucket list for 20-25 years. Finally made it to Nor Cal and did a whirl wind 4 day weekend tour. Started in Sonoma/Napa with vineyards up 101 through Avenue of Trees to see giant Redwoods with last stop, The Stanford Inn and Mendocino. They were great about getting us into a room before 4 and then letting us change room due some mobility issues. Kind customer service!! Dinner far exceeded my expectations! It was amazing and even gave us a dessert for my hubby's birthday. I hope I get to come back someday!
