This trendy place is located inside Crossgates Mall and it has a kitschy, retro 50's ambiance great for American favorites out of the kitchen. Steaks, seafood, chops, pasta, almost everything on the menu is familiar and delectable. Some of the items that diners rave about are the small plates, with Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls, Lobster Bisque, and the Filet Mignon Carpaccio, the entree almost seems optional. The Standard also provides its space for private events and functions.

I'm writing this review because I went to the restaurant today from Kingston NY and the restaurant was closed!!! I was very disappointed to find that the restaurant was open on the website but closed at the actual site.
I wasn't able to eat at The Standard as they have closed. It was one of my favorite places to eat. If I was out shopping by myself I would stop in there and eat. I have been here many times with family and friends. I am truly going to miss this restaurant. The food was great and the staff was wonderful.
