We lived at The Standard for two years and honestly had such a great experience. Move-in and move-out were super easy, and the management team was always friendly, helpful, and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. The location is also a huge plus—right on Maybank Highway and close to pretty much everything. I love living at The Standard. The location is perfect as I can walk to the essentials of groceries, CVS, places to eat; and it’s an easy drive to downtown as well as to Folly Beach. I appreciate the available parking and other amenities. I enjoy the regular socials sponsored by Management, as well as their responding to my occasional needs. Maintenance also,, is quick to address my requests. All the staff are professional and courteous.
YOU WILL BE FIRED!!! If you work from home full-time or even part of the time, do not sign a lease with The Standard. For what could only be corporate greed at the expense of the tenants, they recently “upgraded” to GigStreem as their ISP. GigStreem aka: GarbageStreem has an overall 1 star rating on Google, yet The Standard chose them to provide wifi etc. Again today, in the middle of a business day, our internet connectivity crashed for six hours. This is my first apartment in Charleston and I need pretty rapid access to the peninsula/downtown for work so I appreciate that there are two major routes from James Island for that. Location is great, and the parking ramp is very safe and secure for my coming and going at night and the early morning for work, close to grocery (Harris Teeter and there is a Publix and Aldi down Folly) and several restaurants.
