We suspected our 60 ft backyard pecan tree had a fungal root disease, ganoderma, which was confirmed by 4 arborists. This disease is fatal to pecans and there is no treatment. Our neighbor, and a well known San Antonio arborist, recommended Fernando Nino , owner of The Spaniard Tree Service. Fernando also confirmed the diagnosis and that the tree must be removed, before it fell and did great damage. Fernando’s bid for the job was fair and competitive. Fernando and crew removed a diseased red oak for us last week. It was in a precarious position between 2 houses, a carport, and power wires below had to be avoided. They worked with care and precision. And they gave us a great price! Highly recommend.

Fernando came highly recommended by a fairly well known arborist in San Antonio, and did a fabulous job. I was expecting this to take 2 or 3 days due to the size of the tree and the proximity to the house, but they were able to complete the job in one day. They did a masterful job of cleaning the property after the job was finished as well as cutting some very nice "cookies" which I can make into table tops.
