Over priced for the quality. Hard stems were left in the collard greens. Dirty rice was not cooked correctly and had multiple uncooked grains. Portions were also small compared to expectations, but maybe I'm just use to real southern kitchen portions. Under seasoned overall. The only saving grace was the boudin balls which were delightful. I would not eat here again unless the quality increases greatly.

The food at South was not worth the high price. It was not even tasty. My mother, who loves fried catfish, had a craving for it. Since we didn’t want to travel far from Murphy or Wylie, we decided to try South. Mom ordered two pieces of catfish, two hash browns, and fries. I specifically requested a bowl of red beans, no rice. This mediocre meal cost $31. Mom was very dissatisfied with her fish. She said it was cold and tasteless. My red beans were not just red beans; they were some kind of jambalaya. Very good! We had the fried pickles, country fried steak, green beans, corn bread and the fried catfish trap! It wasn’t busy at all which is very surprising considering the food was amazing!! Make sure you get a strawberry daiquiri!!!! I would include pictures but we ate it all!!
