A little over a year ago, my husband and I did a little backcountry meandering and found ourselves driving through Scottsville. We were vacationing nearby and decided to go back with friends a few days later to do some sightseeing. After walking through downtown we decided to grab dinner at The Smokehouse Grille. We have come back every year when we are on vacation nearby. Every single item we have eaten has been amazing! Katie is a fabulous hostess and made sure we had the best experience. I highly recommend the bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Delicious every time!
My husband and I were passing through on our way back to D.C. and we stopped here for a bite to eat. And, OMG the food and service were phenomenal!! Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. Amazing food, great service, and charming atmosphere! This place TRULY reflects the heart and soul of Scottsville, and I'll definitely be back! (Yesterday was my first time there!)
I have heard a lot of positive things said about this restaurant and I believe that it is very popular among people who value "eating local" and do not mind paying a high price for such. I have eaten there twice, once a dinner that I thought was acceptable but overpriced, and a second time at a promotional dinner in which the staff gave poor service and the "free" dinner was again acceptable. I will never go there again.
The Clover Hill AOG Motorcycle Ministry rode over 100 miles one way to try out the Smokehouse Grille and it was worth every mile. We had 14 people in our group and when we got there they were ready for us. We dined on the outside deck, which was covered (94 degrees) and was just really nice. Outstanding ribs, weekly specials and daily cocktails! The owner/chef uses local products. The management and staff cater to their customers. Great experience every time we visit!
