This is the PERFECT place for an intimate wedding. I've always loved Toronto Island and was thrilled that I could have my wedding here. The house is well maintained with a very beautiful garden, and there's a walkway behind that's perfect for pictures. Laurie was super friendly, accommodating, and a great help for making my day beautiful.
Our team of therapists has been holding our annual team retreat at Shaw House for several years now and absolutely love this venue. The backdrop of the lake and the beautifully landscaped gardens make for such a lovely backdrop for reflection and connection with each other. Being able to move into the cozy indoor space complete with a fireplace has also been great as the evening cools down. Communication with the venue has been wonderful, easy and professional. Our team hosted two days of the Indigenous Curriculum Specialists Network gathering at Shaw House on Toronto Island, and it proved to be exactly the kind of retreat space this work requires. The house sits facing Lake Ontario—water and sky filling the horizon—so our conversations unfolded against a living backdrop rather than a wall of buildings. The Shaw House is a lovely venue for intimate weddings on the Toronto Islands. As an event planner, I love how it feels like a backyard wedding at your family home, with a fully stocked kitchen. It is both stunning and economical!
We had our intimate wedding dinner in the lovely gardens of the Shaw House this summer. It's a hidden gem and a beautiful venue. We were grateful to have had the opportunity to be on Ward's island with a great view of the lake (it's a walking distance from the beach and has a boardwalk next to it that's perfect for photos).
