One of the area's largest selections of imported beers is offered. This is a place where regulars congregate frequently and, sooner or later, anyone who's anyone in Tucson drops by.

The Shanty is an iconic old school bar at the southern end of Historic 4th Avenue. Lots of bottles of beer in the cooler, a select few on tap, and a full bar. This is where Tucsonans go to drink and chat with friends or co-workers! It hasn't changed in the 40 years that I have been going and I love it for that reason.
Not very accommodating, bartender didn’t want to be at work I guess. Been there before and it was much better!!
The Shanty is one of the best hangouts in town! Ever friendly staff, great patio, and wonderful history.
The only thing that keeps this place from getting a 5 is if you really enjoy pool, the setup can make it less than ideal, cramped together tables and lots of foot traffic. It's a great bar atmosphere with a solid beer and liquor list, not to mention a great patio/outdoor space.
I love this bar! Great atmosphere with amazing drinks and yummy snackables. Jack makes week day drinking a blast while Jim helps make a boring sunday night fun. They always take the time to make us some of the best drinks and are always willing to try something new to keep the night fun. Will definitely be coming here for a while! Definitely order a June Bug if you're ever at this bar :)
