We order their prepared dinners to go often and we are always so pleased with the meals we keep ordering. For us the dinners freeze really well so I can keep a chef prepared meal on hand.

Love Foster’s Market…not sure if Root Cellar has the same menu etc. I love the space, but bench cushions are filthy and gross. I’ve had tasty food here a couple of times, but today’s tarragon chicken salad was tough. I actually couldn’t chew the chicken and spat it out. I reported this to the staff. But a sandwich that expensive should be excellent. I ate the maple and fig scone after leaving. It had flavor but was very dry. Like 2-3 day old dry. In the past I’ve gotten an acceptable scone here. To clarify the service comments I saw, this is a 'order at the counter' restaurant and the servers bring the food to your table. So realistically you shouldn't expect a lot of service. However, it was a little slow considering that it wasn't busy when we were there. The atmosphere is very casual and seems to be aimed at college students. I drove through chapel hill and stopped at this hub. Sat outside with the pups 🐶. The menu was great for an adult. My daughter was not happy with the selections. I tried the berry smoothie as I asked if they could just make stawberry and the kid did not know. My sandwich was good and so was my pasta salad. Maybe they just don’t get a lot of kids that are in between grilled cheese and adult food. The patio was nice but just into a parking lot. It was 36 for a sandwich and smoothie.
