Was there recently for a friends wedding reception. The girl at the front desk was downright rude not only to me but other guest as well. When I walked in she was playing on her phone and looked at me with disgust for no reason. I'm sorry, but if you're going to work a front desk please be curtious, even if it kills you. However, I will say that the venue was nice and has a good layout if you're wanting something small and intimate.
Great location; less than accommodating manager and owner. Actually added stress to an already stressful time. Not worth the aggravation. There are many other beautiful venues in the area to check out before settling on the River Room.

One of our absolute favorite venues in Wilmington! It's a beautiful location right on the Cape Fear River downtown Wilmington. Have your ceremony on the deck outside overlooking the river and come inside for a lovely reception with high ceilings and brick interior. Stunning! Never in my life have I ever experienced such poor customer service. Paid an extra 300. To be able to set up for a wedding only to have the planner tell the bride 30 minutes prior to her wedding, that she could not walk down the aisle. She was in tears. Wedding was late, guests were forced to stand for the ceremony and the planner was miserable. Never again.

My husband and I had our reception at The River Room, the location and view is beautiful, the staff was great and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend The River Room if you love the look and feel of being in downtown Wilmington! #HappyToBeAStephens
