I requested a visit to investigate future plans for my care. I was welcomed warmly, offered coffee and a cookie. I showed up early and was still seen , given a tour and all my questions were answered. Valencia was very thorough in her tour and gave clear answers to my questions. She invited me to stop by sometime, with a prior phone call, to join them for lunch to check out the food and visit with some residents. I was very inpressed and will soon put my name on the waiting list. Thank you, Valencia.
Mom has been in the Retreat for 4 months now. She is still acclimating to the new environment, often wanting to to to her own home. The staff is wonderful and do the best they can to tend to all the residents. Although she forgets most daily events, I see there are some exceptional staff that take the time to talk, smile and gently touch her, and I'm sure this comforts her during her moments of being lost and confused.
