great eye MD i have been to this practice for a detached retina during my first pregnancy. the staff was quick with a diagnosis and treatment. always professional and courteous.
Bad outcome from surgery I had vitrectomy for floaters. I asked Dr. Rivers if I might get cataracts because of the procedures. He said no, I shouldn't. A year later I had cataracts, and had to have cataract surgery on my eyes to continue to see anything. He was uninformed about the consequences of the procedures he performs, and I don't recommend him.
retinal detachment Saw Dr. Rivers on a Monday for a dark spot on the edge of my vision in the left eye which I had noticed over the weekend. He said it was a young retinal detachment, and it could be operated on that day as a medical emergency, or the next day. Not knowing anything about retinal detachments, I left the decision in his hands; I only said I didn't want to do anything that would jeopardize my vision.
