Resting on their reputation – We went to the Red Inn for a special occasion (40th birthday party for my partner). We were expecting great food and fantastic atmosphere. What we got was mediocre, on both fronts. First, the food. I had the Veal Chop (special of the day), with mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The chop was OK, but with little flavor. The asparagus very much undercooked (very, very crunchy). The mashed potatoes: fine. My partners sea bass was overcooked (to the point where he thought it was swordfish). One of our ... read more
Our favorite place! – This is the best restaurant in Provincetown! We go several times a summer since 2004. The food is amazing, I always get the Lobster 2 1/2 lbs Grilled MP usually around 45.00 or I get the Filet one of the best I've ever had and I live in NYC in the off season. The service is great, and it is so romantic. It is where I intended on proposing to my boyfriend of 7 years, but the surprise was ruined, so we celebrated our engagement there instead. We look forward to eating there every season.
Stay Away – The service is terrible. Don't go here unless you want to waste your money. The food is passable but the owners make the experience the worst I've had in P-Town.
Fine food and magnificent views of P-Town make this restaurant a local favorite. – The Scene This 200-year-old farmhouse--complete with antique furnishings, wide-plank pine floors and wood ceilings--feels like a Vermont country inn. Until you settle in at your table and glance out one of the bay windows to the spectacular views of Provincetown Harbor. The Food The succession of courses served off of the seasonal menu is creative and prepared with finesse. To start, house salads are superb, with a delicious oil, tarragon and ... read more
Delicious Lobster Roll – I've tried all the lobster rolls in P-Town. Really I have. The lobster roll at The Red Inn was the best. The ambience is fantastic. I think it was great. Plus, I tend to only like places that have full bar -- which it does.
Amazing – One of the best things about this restaurant is that it is more a local haunt than a tourist spot. The food is delicious, the service is very friendly, and the view is fantastic. There is no issue with adding to or rearranging a dish a bit. It can be a bit slow during the season, but that is to be expected. I go here any time I am in P-Town and highly reccomend to anyone who wants good food, atmosphere and a view.
