A college bar The Pumping Company is known for having great drink specials, but they also serve some tasty bar food. During the day, it's a great place to relax and have a nice, inexpensive meal, and at night (especially on weekends) it transforms into a bar that can get pretty packed. The owner is almost always there and is a friendly guy who has personal connections with many of his customers. The downfalls of this business is that once it gets crowded, it becomes very difficult to get a drink, also, it's not necessarily i... read more
Great on the Weekdays This is a great little sports bar on the weekdays, lots of TV's, cheap drinks with good alcohol. On the weekends when Loyola is in session it's a bit busy, they open up the basement and it's full of drunk frat boys. The food is good, they have the best $10 steaks.
Thanks for making my twenties such a memorable time. I love this place ❤

Sizzle until Charcoal it – I could not believe how bad the food and the service were. The waiter would never come back to check on us. Just to get an appetizer took forever. I dont know how long.and for dinner was another half an hour or so. My husband got a rib which was burned most of it. My Chorizo hamburger was really dry. Sizzle was by far the worst restraint Ive ever been to in Chicago.
The water never boils at Sizzle... – After perusing a menu of glorified bar food (we were just after bar food), we ordered a burger and a fajita. Our waitress then left and stayed away for at least 25 mins. We weren't checked on once, even for drinks. Finally, after tracking her down via another staff member, we were told that the cook was going "as fast as he could," even thought there were only 2 other small tables actually dining in the bar! I regret even paying for the cokes. Highly unrecommended.
Edgewater restaurant and bar serves up an eclectic menu with a side of live music. – In Short Colorful decor, an expansive, reasonably priced menu and good-value drink specials draw a neighborhood crowd to this casual hangout in the former Pumping Company space, which has been redone with booths, tables and contemporary wall art. Food offerings include mussels in spicy tomato and oregano broth; salads and low-carb wraps; and entrees such as shrimp and scallop risotto, pan-fried catfish, and grilled ahi tuna.
The Pumping Company has a 4.1 star rating with 73 reviews.
The Pumping Company is closed now. It will open tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
