My application was denied due to what they called my “background situation,” even though I have never been convicted of anything. On 9/12/2025, Jennifer called and left me a voicemail stating my application was denied, but I was never provided with an official written denial letter or notice, which I believe is a legal requirement. This experience left me feeling discriminated against, especially by Jennifer, and I strongly feel my race and ethnicity played a role in the way I was treated. Gated apartments with keyless locks. Can control opening the gate to locking/unlocking your front door all from an app on your phone. Super handy when your on your way to work no having to worry if you forgot to lock the door, can be locked(un) as long as you have your phone.
Roaches and pests are a massive problem, and there are stray cats around, some of which carry feline AIDS. The neighborhood itself is rough, which can make the area feel unsafe at times. Management is generally solid, but they can come off a bit condescending if you bring up issues. Overall, it’s affordable and might work if price is your top priority, but if you’re looking for comfort and peace of mind, it may not be the best fit.
I've been here almost 4 months now and I really love it. The staff, including maintenance are all friendly and love to engage with residents. It's clean here. Move in process didn't take long either, considering it was during the holiday time. I would definitely refer others here. I guarantee they'll love it like myself and my Mom
I have enjoyed my time here at Preakness Apartments, my gated apartment home. Apartment Manager Jennifer has been wonderful, very friendly, accommodating, and responsive to any needs or issues. Ruth, her assistant is very professional and very helpful, as well. The maintenance team, led by Tony is very responsive to any needs. Tony's crew, Harry and Edger do a great job keeping the apartments in great shape. I just renewed my lease . I look forward to another comfortable year, here at Preakness.
