We've been to The Pit in both Durham and Raleigh several times and we have consistently had fantastic food and service. But tonight's visit tops all of them as my husband was treated to the best birthday ever. Kudos to Andy (GM) and Sarah (server) for making his day so special. We can't thank you both enough for the fantastic dinner, amazing service, and the mile-high chocolate cake! We can't wait to go back!

July the 5th was my first to coming to The Pit . It was suggested by a Son of mine . My family surprised me with dinner there . Great choice , great place , enjoyed the food , service was awesome !!!! My ' Pulled Pork ' outstanding !!! Can't wait to visit again . We had a blast ! All the food that I ate was awesome , The Rack of Ribs , Pulled Pork, Collard greens , Mac & cheese , Sweet potatoes fries , 👍🏾up to The Pit . Thank You The Pit Authentic Barbecue 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
First, if you go here, go hungry! Second, ask for Sarah to serve you she is very pleasant and is a remarkable server! Third, choose wisely and you can't go wrong with anything! Fourth, enjoy this meal slowly, it should be an intimate moment between delicious food and taste buds to be saviored for eternity if you aren't close! Fifth, finish it with the best slice of Pecan pie you could ever ask for!
My wife and me and our daughter were there, i loved the southern ribs, my wife tried the pulled pork, that sayin she is not much of a pork eater, the parking valets were very good, not much wait time, the valets are very much needed as parking was limited, 5 stars i recommend this eatery, servers and food were second to none. Large food portions=more for the belly. We will be back!
