Yummm, pancakes! Great pancakes, all different varieties! You'd have to visit this place for years to try all the delicious things on the menu.
Wow. I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover the Original Pancake House. They have an unbelievable selection of pancakes as well as other items on the menu. Their pancakes are delicious and what else very "original." I had the dutch apple pancake which is like eating apple pie. Always busy, but well worth the wait.
Original Pancake House This is it - the best place to get pancakes in Portland. Will you have to wait? Yes, but it's a Portland tradition, and the food is excellent. Anything on the breakfast menu is worth the wait.
A Great Throw-back to the 50's Not a large enough dining room, so you may have to wait a bit to get in, but a great slice of Portland's history. Charming atmosphere and amazing menu selection.
yummmm WOW, The selection is incredible. The food abundant, and if you are gluten free you can eat here :) Be prepared for a wait a lot of people know how good this place is.... My personal favorite would be the Irish omelet, oh yummm
Worth the wait It's a small building with a small parking lot. Usually, there's a good hour wait to get in. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it. Great selection of different pancakes and quick service once you've been seated. PROS: Delicious breakfast food CONS: long wait, cash/check only
Traditional breakfast foods done right! The Original Pancake House has become a favourite breakfast spot for myself, friends, and my family when they visit. Their menu includes all the traditional breakfast foods that you can order in a lot of places, but somehow they make everything taste better! They also have more fun things, like fruit or chocolate chip pancakes and dutch babies pancakes made in a special oven. Whether you try your conventional buttermilk pancakes or their signature Apple Pancake which is a single large pancake smothered in apples and cinnamon sugar. And when I say large, I mean large. Well known for their pancakes, their Eggs benedict are simply amazing as well.
