About this business

The name is probably an indicator of what not to expect from this award-winning restaurant. Occupying a beautiful former bank building, The Ordinary thrills with its heavenly seafood preparations in an elegant setting. The menu is a showcase of the rich diversity of the coastal regions of North and South Carolina. The oyster bar offers some great choices from razor clams and bay scallops to East Coast Oysters and Maine Lobster Cocktail. Oyster addicts can also go for the Shellfish Towers. Besides this, diners have a choice o... read more

If you don't order the blue crab toast and oyster sliders, you don't deserve to be there

Food was excellent and service was spot on. Dani was our server and she did a great job. Can't wait to come back!

This restaurant thinks discrimination is okay. My friends and I entered around 10:50pm hoping to have a drink at the bar for her bachelorette party. Anything but ordinary. Great ideas for presenting seafood in unique ways. Smoked oysters were fantastic, and the beef tartare with fried oysters I am dreaming about. Great experience!

Had a wonderful experience! We had to cancel our initial reservation due to car trouble on our way down. We headed there later hoping for a seat at the bar. The hostess was most gracious and got us a small table. Our server was wonderful, explaining the dishes and answering our questions. Thumbs up on all the food. Highlights included the smoked oysters, peekytoe crab salad and barbecued shrimp. Cocktails and wine pairings worked beautifully with the food. We've only been in town for one day, but convinced that the Ordinary... read more

We were quite impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. Wonderful Moscow Oysters, brilliant lobster rolls and great wine. Our only complaint were the two boorish and terribly loud businessmen sitting next to us trying out their testosterone moves!
