The Old Mohawk is a German Village staple. It sits on an unassuming corner, cobblestone streets out front, itself looking very unassuming. Inside, there's history. The place has been here for decades, keeping locals' thirsts quenched and hungers satisfied. The menu is heavy on sandwiches and soups and other hearty things, and there's a different daily special each day, each one more comforting than the last. The bar is beloved by many a working stiff for its strong drinks and warm atmosphere. See website for menus and more.

Never had a bad meal there. Great place to hang out a little while, have a beer, gaze out the window and watch the traffic and people. Wait staff is always prompt and friendly. If you're in the mood for meatloaf - go on Thursday (currently the meatloaf special night) - you will not be disappointed. The place is under "new" management, but the food, drinks and service have been wonderful in all of the years we have gone there. Yes, it's in the GV so you have to park on the street, but you will most likely find a parking spot ... read more
This company put an expensive wood shingle roof on my house in Massachusetts in July 2019. A few weeks later I notices some issues and attempted to contact the owner. He would answer phone calls to his cell or office, text messages or e-mails. Several other former customers have had the same issues based on other on-line reviews I have since read, so this seems to fit a pattern. I finally had to send him a Certified Letter. He said he would fix the problems but two months later, no contact. I have filed a complaint wit... read more
Visited here during the previous summer. I ordered their weekly special, a steak, potatoes, and vegetables option. The steak was WAY overcooked and hard to cut, the potatoes appear to have been made from a box, and the green beans were from a can! I couldn't believe it! By the time our server asked us how our meal was, we just mumbled off and avoided the question so we could get out of there as fast as possible!

Love it We live in German Village and made the mistake of not making any reservations on Valentine's Day this year. After driving around to a few places, we said, "lets try the mohawk." We love the place anyway and it didn't look like there was much of a wait. They set us up at the bar while we waited and had a great time. I am so glad that this place is kind of a secret still. I never have to wait around like at Thurman Cafe and Schmidt's. The food is great and they have good beer on tap. They also have turtle soup if you l... read more
To the manager of the Old Mohawlk Restaurant; My son and I were in there this past tuesday with a friend of my son's for lunch around 2pm in the afternoon. I was informed that one of your servers had called my place of employement to let their servers know how much my son's bill came to and what he tiped. I can not remember the servers name but I do not think that it was appropriate for your staff to call another restaurant to tell my buisness to. If it is possible, please e-mail me back and let me know what can be done abou... read more
Terrible Waitress – I agree with you. Her name is Gerri and by far the most unpleasant waitress I have had in Columbus. It was as if she just wanted you to hurry and eat, leave a tip, and depart so she could seat new suckers.
Bartender/waitress with a bad attitude – I was recently at the Mohawk with several people. We stopped during happy hour. Everything was ok except for one waitress. She was the heavy set blonde with the attitude. She made everyone in my party extremely uncomfortable and we were encouraged to "hurry up" and order as if all she cared about was getting us out of there as quickly as possible. I did not have a problem with the resturant in general, but the service could have been a lot better. I don't think some in my party will b... read more
best place to hang at the bar and have dinner – For God's sake, don't choose The Olde Mohawk if you are planning on entertaining five executives from out of town! But the Mohawk is a great casual, lowkey neighborhood establishment. I recommend sitting at the beautiful bar and getting to know the great bartenders. Or go with another couple; four max at this place is your best bet. Good pub food, great people, super location.
