About this business

Proudly named after a historic figure from the island's historic revolutionary war, The Obstinate Daughter presents diners with a carefully crafted menu that draws inspiration from the age-old culinary traditions of Southern cuisine. The nautical-themed decor is simplistic yet endearing, bringing together the raw charm of reclaimed wood and a wide range of contemporary elements. The Seafood Fra Diavolo, Frogmore Chowder, Griddled Octopus, and the Seared Red Snapper comprise the specialties.

Front staff not helpful with group reservation and female hostess seemed to get a kick out of not being able to sit me because I was a little early, but ignored me sitting in the humidity outside after everyone came in and sat. She honestly couldn't relate to my upset...?? A lot of people seemed to enjoy the pizza but a couple of other main dishes were returned due to being extremely salty. Manager was informed but his response seemed to be ok with the cook staff being "heavy handed with seasonings". A couple of drinks also ... read more

This was the best meal we ate while visiting Charleston. Jennifer our server was amazing - attentive, informative, and “right-on” with recommendations. The peach prosciutto salad was amazing. Then we both did a homemade pasta dishes. Over the top amazing. We forced ourselves to eat desert. They were very good - but paled to the dinner. This was the best meal and can’t wait to come back.

Obviously great and friendly service. Actually wish California waiter's or waitresses had the same true friendly and kind and patient attitude, or lack of as the middle east does! Had a spinach style noodle with this succulent butter, garlic sauce with other things, melt in your mouth oysters and oh my god! Delicious doesn't even start to describe! Had some sautad tomatoes, I believe a few other type of succulent veggies too. A must if you ever goto Charleston, SC !
