I found this place last minute when I moved to Bloomington last fall. At first things were fine, one of the units often blocked the only driveway into the parking lot with beer pong tables and had parties often, so if you're looking for something quiet, this is not for you. There isn't much security (they have 'cameras but I'm not sure that they work, and the door to get into the building is never locked) but the area isn't too sketchy. I had a great experience at The Northern. The building was quiet and my maintenance requests were processed in a timely matter. ONLY complaint is the lack of light on the back side of the building, made it difficult when coming in the back door at night.
