Unfortunate to see what has come of this property. Rooms are dated and rundown (floor lamp in room was broken, AC unit is embarrassingly loud), service is cold and lacking. Even the once lux le labo products seem to have been watered down. Have stayed here 3 years ago and again last week and the deterioration is very noticeable.
The New York EDITION is pleasant enough, but don’t expect a true five-star experience. We had to change rooms late at night due to faulty air conditioning — an issue that was not handled well by the staff. Housekeeping was nonexistent unless we specifically requested it, which felt a bit off for a property at this level. We were also there to celebrate a birthday, and despite my Marriott status and having flagged the occasion in advance, the hotel made no effort to acknowledge it or make us feel welcome. Went there in the morning to do some work order a coffee service was rude. Will not go back. Ice Coffee was nine dollars.
