My wife and I have been members for more years than I care to remember. This is the first disappointing rating I've ever given Morton Arboretum. We attended the Illumination display on Saturday, Nov 26, 2016. It paled in comparison to the show last year. Less dynamic lighting displays (Meadow Lake was poor, tree lighting was ordinary), sound quality was poor (too quiet at the few synchronized music displays, music too modern and lacked traditional warmth) and too commercial (food booths along the trail). After seeing how daz... read more

We were there Saturday night...all females...ages 67 down to 8 years old...including a 13 year old...and we all loved it! The carolers were fun when we first entered and the light shows were spectacular...everyone enjoyed the fire stops along the way where you can have hot drinks and toast marshmallows to make s'mores...and just warm yourself...some of the stops along the way are interactive which added to the fun...will definitely try to make this a yearly event!

What a beautiful holiday and festive experience it was! My only regret was that there was not ice and snow on the ground and in the trees, imagine beauty when there is!

My first time to The Morton Arboretum. We spent a perfect evening walking the grounds and being in awe as we approached each area of Illumination! The light presentation was magnificent! The gift shop has a perfect compliment of items featured for the season, and we also sat and sipped hot chocolate and apple cider close to the wall of windows to continue to enjoy the holiday lighting. Compliments for the endless hours in preparing the grounds for the flow of visitors that bring families a little closer as we walk the path a... read more

All I can say is that the kids (age range 3-7) had a blast! They actually wanted to walk the whole thing again but us mom's were cold!! Nice fire pits and snack huts (with booze ) along the way! The treemagination was amazing. Kids were mesmerized we had to convince them to move on after the 3rd run. Great family holiday outing.
