Lovely inn, which is central to activity in Monhegan Island. Delicious breakfast is included — poached eggs, avocado toast, homemade granola, fresh jam — so delicious. Room was comfortable (we had 3 twin beds for 3 people) but weren’t cleaned each night. Toilets and showers were sort of dorm style in one hallway with 10 separate doors, which worked quite well. A lovely place to stay. An adorable home away from home . Wonderful, sweet staff who make your stay very pleasant. The rooms are cozy and the showers were lovely. Food at the restaurant, breakfast time and the baked goods are out of this world. The cakes during the evening dessert time are heavenly. All food is delicious and amazing. The charming house really makes you feel at home. Highly recommend you stay here when you arrive on the island. You also will meet a beautiful cat a few doors down named Tilly Bean Way.
Perfect location. Super friendly staff. Scones and GF breakfast options with pie and cake from 6-8 at fattys, on the porch.
Our stay at the Monhegan House was very nice! Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. We managed to get the last room available for our stay peroid, which was a double, but we were still comfortable and enjoyed the sea breeze through our windows. We felt very welcome here, and coming back to our room after our walks felt like coming home.
Incredible stay on a unique island. With daily oyster roasts, nightly pop-up dessert bar, incredible breakfast (included with stay), and lovely dinners it is no doubt the best place to stay on Monhegan Island. Highly recommend.
