A bit louder than other Michelin-rated establishments. Professional service team but could've had timing and communication down more. Not a significant issue though. Food was fresh and flavorful. Highlights were the tuna tartar canape, the seabass and the nam foc mai mango with coconut rice. No chicken or beef on our menu. Diver scallops were over-cooked.
Food is tasty but nothing special for a restaurant at this price point. Small portions for big prices. I ate in the main dining area and tried the octopus Brussel sprouts, the caviar hotdog, the gem lettuce salad, the braised short rib, and a dessert (not the pre fixe menu). All tasty, but neither my wallet nor my stomach were full afterwards.
The Modern is one of my NY favorites. Food is excellent. This time we ate in the less formal bar. Highly recommended Updating this review. When you look at the menu the options look OK, but not that novel. However, taste any one and you will be amazed at the flavors and quality. Superb food.
