I had a bad experience at the er. I went to the emergency room in severe pain at 1am. The left side of my face was swollen, and I was suffering sharp pains and spasms. I could barely talk. The women that check me in were kind, and as soon as I signed in, they took me to the back. The issues I had were with the back staff and waited entirely too long for someone in severe pain. This is literally the worst hospital in the state. Staff that could care less if you died. We were in the ER with a patient going into shock and got told "the doctors are doing paperwork, they can't help right now"
I could not advise going here any less. I was sent here from an urgent care, which I would give anything to go back and change. After explaining what happened to me to at least 20 different doctors, without a single one listening, I was discharged with a completely wrong diagnosis. How do I know this? I was called back by the MUSC ER the next day and asked to return immediately. The scans they had done were read wrong, as only an attendee read them. I got in fairly quick since it was so early in the morning only for my pain to never be truly addressed after 4 -5 hours of being there. All labs came back clean so they refused to do anything else and discharged me despite never getting better. The attending, Dr. Carr, then spoke to me like a child as I cried in pain and tried to compare it to her own life.
