The elevators make such a loud metal-on-metal shrieking and grinding down EVERY. TIME. they’re used. So if you live by the elevator, it echoes throughout your whole apartment all. day. every. day. I haven’t slept in MONTHS because of the excessive noise. It is NOT NORMAL at all and didn’t used to sound like this. TLC has grown to be one of the worst rental companies in Hyde Park in my opinion. The Mayfair in particular has deteriorated over the years. They will charge you $200+ gas fees on a tiny studio apartment without explaining how it is even possible to consume so much gas. They force you to join their internet plan which is quite often very slow. They completely blocked all trash chutes throughout the building instead of fixing them, and now all the hallways of the building and the elevator smell like trash. Don’t get deceived ... read more
I'm being super honest in this review, listing a lot of negatives. Despite that, I do feel that the most important things were pretty good, and that's why I'm giving it four stars. Positives: The property manager Sierra has been very nice and helpful in all my encounters with her. No pest problems, which I really appreciate. Neutral: The package locker is nice, but sometimes packages are left in the lobby area. The price seemed kind of big for a small unit, it sounded like the two-bedroom units are better deals.
