Overall poor experience. And if you need assistance from the owner.., where his number is indeed provided on the office door, don’t expect a return call. There was no staff there on the weekend, until some relief came in. She was filling in for full time staff and was quite helpful n kind. Too bad she’s not there full time. Bottom line, the resort really is outdated. And service was questionable from the office staff excluding the relief person who came in. ( Lynn?). Be careful with The Masthead Resort: they may cancel your reservation at the very last minute, completely ruining your travel plans.

When I got there, I learned that my room was in a boarding house, and outside of that boarding house, a cat had sprayed or peed everywhere. Once I walked into the front hallway, the smell of cat spray/pee intensified. My room was the first one on the right and that unfortunately smelled even worse of cat spray/pee. Starting with the positives, the hotel has a great location, waterfront, walking distance to everything, and with a nice waterfront veranda with lounge chairs. It also has a nice New England vibe which make it feel cozy.
