always love my stay here - so intimate and full of charm.
The Marlton still shows us what a hotel should be! The era of class lives! I observed my twenty something kids (and their friends at dinner) taken aback by this! The employees from hotel to restaurant make it their way! The restaurant menu is divine and the chef does not disappoint! Worth staying in for more than a meal or two! The inviting lounge and bar too, say stay for cocktails! While some of the rooms are small, you just want to make it work, because somehow you know it’s worth it! And it was!
Location, location, location. This place is graced with being in the middle of one of the best parts of the city. The rooms are very nice. They are tiny and come with no view but if you go into this knowing that, you will be very happy with those concessions. There was room to put all of my stuff away. The bathroom is a beautiful example of pre-war sophistication. There was even the expected ironing board and iron, bathrobes, very well stocked minibar and safe. Charming, cozy old hotel immaculately renovated to make it a gem in NYC! Love the lobby, great restaurant for included breakfast and dinner! Loved it!
I had overall a very nice stay at The Marlton. The location is unbeatable. The rooms are very compact, but styled in a beautiful French decor. My one gripe is that I specifically requested a "quiet room in a quiet location" and I was put by 3 housekeeping closets, which subjected me to noise of the glass water bottles clinking all day being taken to and from the housekeeping closets.
