Bottom Level Service with Top Level Food – It is unfortunate that the service is so terrible at The Madison since the food is so good. The good food can't out-weigh the very snobbish, rude service received. We ordered drinks at our table and waited 40 minutes for them and then received our entrees an hour after ordering. During this time we were treated very poorly by the waiter. When complaining the management on our way out - he too was rude and didn't care about the complaint. I would not recommend going to this restauran... read more
HIGH PRICE LOW TASTE!!!! – my husband and i dined here for our anniversary the restaurant is beautiful but not worth the high price. the "special table" given to us was right next to the area where waiters were getting flatware and napkins. the noise of silverware every 2 minutes put a damper on the evening. for the price i found the food bland. Also we were overcharged on the bill. my husband didnt want to make a big deal that evening since we were celebrating out anniversary but did call the restaurant. the person he spoke... read more
I Thought it was So-So, But my Guests Loved It – For what presents itself as such a high-end restaurant, I found the food to be quite mediocre. Excellent and creative selections, yes, but excecution & presentation were lacking. Food not hot enough. However, my 2 guests proclaimed they loved it and that it was a "perfect choice" for dinner. What they REALLY thought I shall never know.
Nothing special – While appetizers are good - the foie gras and mussels being very good, the entrees are nothing special. Steak is flavorful but overcooked and the sole is too lemony and dry. The dessert is slightly more inventive but presentation is poor - ice cream was served melted. This could be due to the very slow service.
It was OK – I went to The Madison for lunch...not sure if the less experienced wait staff works during the day. We were one of just two other tables dining in this huge place but the service was still slow and apathetic. The food was ok. I had the corn-breaded lobster sandwich. Didn't taste the lobster as much as I did the thick corn breading around it. Way too fried and greasy...and this is coming from someone who loves anything fried and greasy. The tomato-basil soup, which came highly recommended, was acidic. The surround... read more
Perfect for picky eaters – I took my wife's mother and father out to dinner one night at the Madison, and they are picky. They loved everything. The food was perfect, just as we ordered it. Bob the manager was always around. They don't have a wine list, they have a wine book with anything you could want. It is a elegant restaurat so dress well, then sit back and soak it in.
The Madison has a 4.3 star rating with 69 reviews.
The Madison is open now. It will close at 11:30 p.m.
