Enjoyable in every regard – Our dinner at The Madison was enjoyable in every regard. The food (we both had the Beef Wellington) was delicious, the service efficient and attentive and the ambience spectacular. Located in a former bank, the high decorated ceilings, chandeliers and wood paneling make for a magnificent setting. And their signature dessert, The Madison Piano, is not only almost too beautiful to eat, but too delicous not to!

A True Dining Experience I took my family and guests from New York to the Madison 3 weeks ago on a Friday evening Oct. 10, 2008 for my wife's 30th birthday. When we arrived we were in awe of the beauty of this gorgeous restaurant. Continues to Be My Favorite!!!! – Every year I take my family to this majestic restaurant. It has only gotten better on each visit. The Beef Wellington is delightful. The meat is tender and the crust is flakey, just perfect. Suprisingly the mac and cheese has turned out to be my favorite side dish. I really enjoy the salad with bleu cheese crumbles and apples with glazed walnuts. The manager remembers each of our names and treats us like royalty. Not impressed! – I wish I would have read these reviews before I decided to take my family here. I would have NEVER gone...only two good reviews (probably by the managers) and the rest right in line with what I experienced! Decor is beautiful, the wine list is amazing. HOWEVER, those two things cannot makeup for the horrible service and so-so food. All of our steaks were overcooked so i'd suggest to order accordingly and don't go starving to death because you'll wait a good 45 min for your appetizers to arrive. If you're goi... read more
Horrible service – This place SUUUCKS !!! The service was the worst ever... I thought we were on candid camera, we waited on our food for 1 hour and 47 mins. during this time no one came to our table to inform us of anything, or see if we would like to order anything.....drinks ,appetizers ,water ......NOTHING! Magnificent I had the Halibut Steak and it was beyond delicious! Every morsel of food there is heavenly. The service impeccable. this a great restaurant for a romantic date.
You have to try this place!! The Madison is located in an old converted back. The ceilings are incredible, along with the wall decor (a great mural takes up the whole back wall). The atmosphere here can't be beat. When you walk in the door, it takes you back a second. It's just incredible. Also, the food is amazing. My husband had a steak and he said it melted in his mouth. Sit Back and Relax – When you walk into The Madison, a mainstay in the Downtown Long Beach restaurant scene for quite some time now, the first thing you'll do is look left, right, and then up. To your left is a man playing standards softly on a baby grand (Fridays at 7:30pm, by the way). To your right is the giant bar, in all wood.
