The Loppet Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that creates a shared passion for year-round outdoor adventure in the Minneapolis area through large-scale events, training programs for people of all ages and abilities, and free programming for youth in North Minneapolis. The Loppet Foundation also staffs and maintains The Trailhead building along with most of the mountain biking, hiking, and ski trails in Theodore Wirth Park, the Chain of Lakes, Hiawatha Regional Park, and Columbia Golf Course.

One of my absolute favorite twin cities non profits. Their mission in general is to get more kids active in the outdoors. The luminary loppet is an excellent event every year, in spite of how much our weather has impacted it recently.
