The Log Doctor came out for a home warranty claim for my water heater to be replaced. When doing the install they destroyed my existing pan under the water heater and used a multi tool to try to cut and modify it to make it work............yeah, didn't work. They sent another tech out a couple months later who said he would come back, replace the pan and run the drain pipe...........NEVER HAPPENED!!! Do not do business with this company. Technician came out and told us we needed a valve for our gas log the day before Thanksgiving. In December after several calls scheduling and no showing up for the appointment, the woman in the office called and said her tech came by our house and no one was home. My husband was here and no one called, I checked the call log on my phone. Then on 12/28 the tech calls my cell phone. He said he had bad news that they couldn't get the valve. In October I contacted The Log Doctor to turn on the gas in my fireplace. A technician came on time and after about an hour was able to solve my problem. HOWEVER, the remote starter did not seem to work, so new batteries were installed: still it would not turn on the flame. A new receiver was to be installed. It is now DECEMBER and I have yet to receive it. My calls go straight to voice mail and are not answered. I actually received one call telling me that my part was in and ready for installation. I contacted Mike S*** on February 6, 2020 to add two benches to the outdoor fireplace. He built the fireplace as well as one that we have in the living room. I agreed to his price and paid him in full and he told me that he would have it completed in about a month. His partner sent me the paid invoice with an approximate completion date of March 20th, which seemed reasonable. Since then, it has been a nightmare for him to complete the job. Just horrible. Don't ever do business with them. My warranty company contracted them to fix my toilet which was running intermittently. On their first visit (1 experienced guy and 2 very unexperienced guys) they came unprepared and claimed that they had to order a special part and come back in a week. They also somehow made the initial problem worse so now I was unable to use the toilet at all. The Log Doctor has sent a tech to my home several times, for a chimney cleaning and trouble-shooting my wood stove/chimney. They also order supplies for my wood stove parts, as the company I purchased from requires that a supplier order replacement parts. They are not always in the office when you call, so you may have to wait for a call-back, or you may want to call back again, but they have always returned my call and the technician has called 30 minutes before arrival. Avoid this company. They provide you a time appointment window and fail to arrive. Their customer service representative (Sherry or Sharon) decided I should have waited for the technician to call before leaving work. How appropriate!?!? Typical behavior for this garbage company. This is the second time in two years they have failed to show. If your technicians are running behind, how about calling the customers that are on the schedule to give them a status update???
