Midling – A full year after opening under the new format and this place is still looking to establish a personality of it's own. I give them points for trying, but it is just not working. First I think that they call themselves a Gastropub just so that hey can charge extra for normal pub fare. There is nothing noteworthy here. not impressed – Something just isn't right about The Local, a "Gastropub" that has been open for roughly a year in West Newton. There seems to be an identity crises with this place, they call themselves a Gastropub, meaning pub food that has been escalated to another level, and they claim to specialize in local, seasonal ingredients.
