The Little Bear

4.3

About this business

The Little Bear Saloon really is a step back in time, from its whimsical, wood-plank Wild West exterior, to the building's colorful past (the bar was once a drugstore and before that, a church). It is very popular with locals and visitors and is one of the liveliest bars in town, with live entertainment six nights a week. The live music is a colorful blend of folk, country, bluegrass and acts are both local and national. A typical bar food menu is available for the peckish. Check the website for details of upcoming shows. Op... read more

We used to love to take our friends and out of town guests up here to show it off, however the last time we went the service was the worst I have ever experienced! We waited 45 minutes to get a drink refill, 1hour just to get a cold burnt appetizer and another 40 minutes to get a dinner. The waitress was rude and didn't even come over to offer some kind of excuse! However, considering I used to work as a waitress we still left her a tip on our card (which I did not want to leave one AT ALL). A few days later upon checking my... read more

Rowdy Mountain Bar I have not been to the Little Bear since the mid 1970's, but what has been said recently was true then. It was loud, rowdy and fun; it was on the funky side with great music. I moved to California and kept getting kicked out of bars cuz I just wanted to party, Bear style! The Little Bear was the epitome of rowdy-mountain-town-bar-great-place-to-go-on-a-cold-winter-night! I gave up bars, but still remember the fun I had dancing and partying the night away at the Bear.

Wild West The Little Bear is a great place to take out of town quests for a bite to eat and drink. They offer intertainment in the evening. There is a cover charge so check out their website. My husband and I enjoyed the Little Bear during the Evergreen Jazz Festiable last summer.

If you haven't been, you are not a local One wild crazy party story after another... Do not miss live music at the Little Bear - a Colorado tradition. You cannot consider yourself a local without at least one visit and one crazy drunk story at the Little Bear.

best of the small town bars – I visited the Little Bear for the first time on Valentine's night. The band was smokin' hot and the place was packed to the rafters with friendly people. It was a great contrast to the typical Seattle bar, where people are definitely more reserved. And yes, it's true - it's a great place to hook up, if that's what you're there for, but no one was obnoxious. I was there on a girls' night out, to listen to some great music and drink a few beers. The crowd was 50/50 guys/gals, every age from 21 to ... read more

Best Mountain Bar in the Front Range – I've been going to this place since I was 3 years old back in 1958. I think it was the Red Fox Inn at the time. After Saturdays fishing at Evergreen Lake, I would belly up to the bar with my grandfather and an ice cold root beer, listening to him swap baseball and fish stories with his buddies. This is my second favorite bar on the planet, but if you're looking for all of the creature comforts with great food, great drinks, perfect temperature and comfortable seating - this isn't it! Great food, great music! Fun! From the names carved on the wall, to the 'wall of bras' around the stage, you know you're in for a good time as soon as you enter the Little Bear. Always great music, fantastic off-the-diet-tonight food and lots of ... scenery. This place is always hopping!

TOURIST TRAP – THIS IS REALLY JUST A PLACE TO GO TO SO YOU CAN SAY YOU'VE BEEN THERE. MAYBE IT WAS THE PLACE TO BE "HISTORICALLY" BUT THAT'S WHERE IT BELONGS-JUST A PART OF HISTORY. SERVICE IS UNBELEIVABLY TERRIBLE-FOOD IS EVEN WORSE. DRINKS ARE WATERED DOWN SO IF YOU GO, STICK WITH BEER. THE STAFF IS EVEN UNFRIENDLY. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO WAIT IN LINE FOR 30 MINUTES TO GET A BEER OR SIT AT A BOOTH AND NOT GET SERVED AT ALL. DON'T GO IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GOOD TIME!
