Looking for a low key dive bar, check out the Lamplighter The Lamplighter is a super low key dive bar that most people wouldn't go to unless they lived close, except for it has karaoke. It gets the crowds in and is a ton of fun. The drinks are pretty cheap and there is a pool table and a couple of TVs. Lamplighter I first stopped into this bar over fifteen years ago and the last time I was there it ha not changed at all. This is your typical neighborhood bar that you can go hang out, talk with your friends, listen to some music and have a few cold one. It's a neighborhood bar that makes everyone feel right at home

What a fun bar! – We stopped by the Lamplighter to do a little karaoke while visiting San Diego. We got there early and it was a Tuesday night - so not as busy as a weekend night. Everyone was friendly, good "mystery shots," and the KJ was rocking. Obviously, there are some regulars and house favorites among the singers, but the KJ kept the rotation going and we all got several chances to sing. Just a nice neighborhood KARAOKE bar. BAD DJ!!! – I was SOOOO excited to go out and get my karaoke on... I got to The Lamplighter a little after 9 pm and almost FOUR HOURS later I was still waiting to sing!! Meanwhile I saw people come up to sing 2 and 3 times... the SAME song was even played- WTF! The DJ kept telling me "you're coming up soon" and "4 or 5 more songs"... After he told me "2 more songs" (four songs later) I went up and he said I was next. Hands down, the best Karaoke spot in San Diego. A lil Divey but the crowd and list of songs is better than anywhere else. Drinks are stiff and bar tenders are great. Always my first option when thinking of things to do on the weekend!
Anywhere but here!!!!!! – Bar tender was decent....service was decent.........but a KJ that demands tips to play your song what a looser.....I wont be back here anymore!!!!!!
