This cafe feels like the type of place where you can sit alone without feeling awkward. I came in around 4 PM with headphones and a book, and nobody bothered me even though I stayed quite a while. The hazelnut latte was smooth and not burnt tasting like some coffee shops nearby. I also liked that they kept the music at a normal volume. The only small issue was one chair near my table being shaky, but a staff member swapped it out after noticing me adjusting it repeatedly. Thoughtful service overall.

I had never been in here before because I despise downtown parking but went in as a last resort for coffee and I have never felt so welcome in a coffee shop! The person working was super kind and brightened what was kind of a crappy day by calling me bestie and happily explaining the difference between a flash brew and cold brew (I know nothing haha). Also they were playing AFI at a perfect volume whereas some coffee shops music is like blaring. Alchemy is stunning!!!!! As well as Yama cold brew!!!
