About this business

Commanding an enviable address in the heart of Manhattan, edging the glow of Times Square and the calm of Bryant Park, an iconic New York City landmark is reborn as a luxury hotel in NYC. Opening Fall 2014, The Knickerbocker is a haven of refined elegance; a legendary monument among all Manhattan hotels created by John Jacob Astor IV in 1906, now reimagined into a sophisticated urban sanctuary. Just returned from a three night stay at the Knickerbocker - the hotel accommodations were as expected but cleanliness and service need improvement as upon check out, I was surprised with $500 smoking fee despite the fact that I am not a smoker! When selecting a room, I was asked the size and number of beds, and whether I wanted a room with a "city view"-- which I did. But my "city view" turned out to include scaffolding, which covered the entire outside of the hotel. If there is needed external preventive maintenance, I understand. But I didn't appreciate not being warned about this in advance and given a disco... read more

Do not stay at this hotel. The rooms are dirty, our bathroom had three cobwebs in different parts of the ceiling (you can tell they’ve been there a while) and the air vents in the room were covered with dust. The bathroom has glass doors to the room and all of the light from Time Square comes in making it hard to sleep. The doors to the rooms are incredibly noisy and close to one another so you hear guests coming in and out all day/night. The rooms look dated and worn down. There are is no mini bar or complimentary water in ... read more
