I checked in last Thursday, and unfortunately the power went out about an hour into my stay. Even though the outage was completely out of the hotel’s control, the staff went out of their way to be kind, understanding, and take care of their guests. Another property that is half updated. Weird noises in ac and dripping water coming out. Good restaurants, but definitely not worth a premium for a few common area updates. Most of interior is dated.
It's the little things they do. Very accommodating, pleasant and professional staff. The rooms are CLEAN clean, not just "surface or for looks" clean. I am IMPRESSED with your windows. I could see Telegraph but couldn't hear it. I enjoyed being able to walk from my room, right into a Joe Muir for crab cakes. Truly enjoyed the salt water pool and hot tub, followed up with a slice of the best bumpy cake. I make up reasons to stay here. Late dinner reservation? Who wants to drive 13 miles home at 10pm? While the hotel is beautiful and the restaurants onsite are very good, several service experiences made this a 2 star overall. We were traveling with a baby, and although the website clearly states that cribs are available, the front desk person acted like it was a super weird request and said he would check with housekeeping. Even after we followed up with him, we received no further communication about the crib availability and we never received a crib and had to scramble for baby sleeping options. Excellent experience here! I have passed this hotel so many times and never stopped in. What a gem. The staff were so welcoming and pleasant. The deli had absolutely great food! Would happily stay there again.
